Building an operating system onto disk?

Now that just sounds confusing. Unless you mean "copying" an operating system onto disk. Or maybe "installing" an operating system onto disk. If neither of the two, do tell me what you mean.

Wow, guess it was obvious but I'm stupid so I didn't get it right away. I thought that you actually meant "writing" when you said writing. But I'm not smart I guess I must have misunderstood.
