Saw this at Best Buy and I couldn't help but think it looked a little like afro samurai. I don't know what its about..but yeah...haha crazy I think about weedguru stuff when I'm out and about.

i watched the first episode of shigurui.... it is very dark...
but i enjoy the animation style, and the action is intense.
hopefully there will be more stable characters and some humour
but its good so far

The manga has been made into a movie and an anime. I suggest watching the anime because it goes more into depth with the characters.

The events take place in 1999. The end of the world is fast approaching as superhuman individuals gather and take sides in the city of Tokyo, the battle site of Armageddon. The key player in this day of reckoning is Kamui Shiro, a young man who returns home to Tokyo after a six-year absence to protect those dearest to him, Kotori and Fuma Monou, and fulfill his mother's dying wish

The first half of the series focuses on the gathering of the soldiers in the final battle. Unbeknownst to the three friends, Kamui and Fuma are destined to fight each other during the end of the world.The second half follows Kamui as he grows into his role as savior while the world moves along toward its inevitable destruction.

The story is Kamui's heroic journey, where the narrative places an emphasis on his choices and how they affect the world around him as he attempts to reconcile his dual destinies.

Scarf you should defo try ninja scroll but watch the film first its much better than the anime series. Neon genesis evangelion is one of the best animes that I have ever seen and was the thing that got me into anime properly in the first place. Started watching a series recently called Devil Lady, it's a bit of a horror / demons type thing. Pretty good so far but it's early days..

I heartily recommend Grave of the Fireflies, a movie so artistically well expressed that it transcends being recommended on grounds of merely being a good anime.

I've only gotten to episode 4, but it's pretty badass so far. The fight scenes are awesome as fuck. Haha..gotta love animes that use techno as background music.

Devil Lady is your generic giant monster/demon anime, storyline predictable and there's not enough fight scenes or violence to distract from that. I would only recommend it as a last resort when you have nothing else to watch. Depending how tolerant you are of blood, guts, gore and sex scenes I would recommend watching the Urotsukidoji Saga. Be warned though it is not for the faint hearted and easily offended. Defo not one to watch when your parents come to visit! On my boxset it says 'Urotsukidoji is explemplary of the darkest and most disturbing side of Japanese animation... There's a poetry in violence, and a beauty in the vile - a certain Grand Guignol appeal, in its monstrous scope.' You can read more about it on wiki but it really simplifies it. It was banned in loads of places and it can be really difficult to get the uncut version but is well worth the effort.

yeah i prefer my anime realistic to be honest... im not a huge fan of monsters and cyborgs etc...
