I have to say rolling machines arent as bad as everyone on here's making out. Picture this: Your walking home and you've still got quite a walk ahead of ya. A spliff will make that walk more enjoyable. You get all your shit ready and go to roll it and realise that your fingers are too cold to roll. Luckily you have a rolling machine to sort it out. Now think, without that rolling machine that walk home would of been that bit more boring.

For the record I can roll by hand, but im just trying to say that rolling machines/mats do have their uses sometimes.

You never get it when ur fingers just WONT grip the paper and it is physically impossible? Now its the winter again I think its about time for my rolling machine to come back out of its hole.

Even when it's absolutely freezin, i don't use a mat or a machine or nothing. Rolling by hand is the way i do it, it's how i like my joints.

Yes i prefer hand rolled joints. Its just something about the cold and my hands. It just never works. I have shite circulation, maybe thats one reason my hands get so cold.

At one point we had a little competition going on between me and my friends, to see who could make a spliff in the most extreme weather conditions. I think we got as far as a blizzard, then we realised that wet skins are real shit.

On topic anyways, I had a rolling machine when I couldn't roll back when I was a noob smoker and I didn't know how the fuck to use it! not even the instructions could help me and everyone else I knew hand rolled joints so I kinda forced myself to roll by hand, when I got the hang of it I couldn't stop rolling! Now I love it and its the reason I smoke roll ups.

Edit: and the reason why I smoke roll ups is because it makes it easier to quit weed (weed still has a strong grip on my ass), as long as I'm smoking something I'm happy heheh but I am planning to quit smoking the dirty shit soon (tobacco).

Ok, i am pretty fucked up, and havent really read the other responses fully, but IMO, if you cant rolle a spiff (at least) you dont deserve to smoke. Come on people. It aint chinese algebra.
