alright, i was going to post this as a topic but since we are already sort of on the topic of gov't i'll just post it here and you can move it if you want.

heres ways that bush has screwed over the constitution:

 your right to a fair and speedy trial-he has held politcal prisoners without ANY trial, let alone a fair and speedy one. There was an article in TIME magazine about this, and here's a link to prove it further. Fact: The Patriot Act allows for indefinite detainment of legal U.S. citizensas political prisoners. http://www.propagandamatrix.com/camps_for_citizens.htm

 freedom of speech-Not like we had it anyway, but Bush has forced protesters to not go near the area where he is giving a speech, mainly so that the media doesn't film it. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0104-04.htm
also, there were a couple of people that were arrested when bush was giving a speech becuase they were wearing anti-bush t-shirts. (im sure there have been more instances such as this, but none that i have heard of).

 trying to ban gay marriage-even though he's going to lose on this, he is still trying to change the constitution.

 the right for the people to elect the president-it's simple: the american people elected al gore, george bush went into the white house.

these examples are very scary (at least to me) because of the power of this adminstration and how they blatantly carry out such acts. it is even dangerous for me to be talking about this on the internet or even talking about it period, because i might be suspected as being a 'terrorist'. well, IM NOT (just in case). this is a very scary time.

RE-DEFEAT BUSH

actually, no, marriage doesnt have anything to do with the constitution... Go ahead, read it yourself

http://www.house.gov/Constitution/Constitution.html

The constitution can't just... be CHANGED. Bush can try all he wants but he wont get far. The patriot act is always blown way out of proportion, and most people forget that most actions that could be used in the patriot act still needs probable cause.

Oh yeah, and Gore did get more popular votes but Bush got more ELECTORAL votes. he did win.

I read that in Florida you lose your right to vote if you have a criminal record. When all those Florida "re-counts" were going on at the last election, Gore supporters were being arrested for petty offences, thus losing their right to vote. I think I read it on www.slambush.net.
