Well actually you should blame Beckham for missing that penalty, and gerrard for that shit pass to James. James had no choice but to scoff Henry, or it would have been a goal for sure.A_Fire_Inside wrote:I don't follow football really, but fuck me, that was one helluva free kick.
david james is a dirty fuck, his fault we lost.

Why Bring Hesky on for rooney when rooney was the biggest threat and the only player who was holding the ************* ball up. . .
Gerrard school boy football never make a pass on your blind side and if in doubt kick it out...
Its ok Its not over yet wait till we meet the french in the final.
Im just upset as i had £300.00 pound on that match and If beckham had scored i would have been rich. . .

I could barely believe it. To come so close and lose it in the final seconds was tragic. Maybe we deserved a draw, but not to lose. There was nothing really wrong with Beckhams penalty, it was hit with pace and to the corner, Barthez just saw it comin the whole way. And i dont blame James either, there wasn't shit he could do about that, the pass was poor all he could do was dive at the ball and hope fopr the best. If he made contact Henry was always gonna go down. Gerrard should have known better, if we're drawing with the french in the last seconds JUST HOOF THE FUCKING BALL UP THE PITCH! Absolutely gutted, we did everything right but keep our cool at the end. Bad tactics from Sven, Rooney was playing almost behind owen in a 4-5-1 formation, which was letting lampard and gerrard to hang back in the centre of the park and control Zidane. When he brought on Heskey and Vassel, two out and out forwards, we started losing it in the middle everytime without Rooney working his ass off trying to make something out of nothing.
We needed some width, the game was very narrow, if we'd have brought on a couple of wide players (though we do have a lack of them) we could have exploited that.
And God when I say FOOTBALL i mean FOOTBALL, as in the sport from which had the name first because it involves kicking a ball with your foot. The real question is why you call yanks calls your sport football, when it involves more throwing and catching than kicking.

actualy i thought heskey should have come on for owen belive it or not. sure hes shit in front of goal but hes a lot bigger than owen, rooney or vassel, and might of been able to win a few more headers and hold the ball up more to give the defence a breather.
ei ei ei ei ohh, up the football league we go!

i've finally found someone who shares my appreciation of heskey. granted, he about as mobile and skillful as a shopping trolley but he was perfect for the situation england were in. like curious orange said, if he came on for owen it would've been better. heskey can actually contest long balls and give something for rooney to chase! i also think butt should've came on for scholes, not hargreaves. if you see a replay of james fouling henry you can see that henry was stretching his leg too much to shoot, so james could've stood uip and forced him out wide. however being an experienced 'keeper, you don't have enough time to think about details like that. The curious orange wrote:actualy i thought heskey should have come on for owen belive it or not. sure hes shit in front of goal but hes a lot bigger than owen, rooney or vassel, and might of been able to win a few more headers and hold the ball up more to give the defence a breather.

yeh i agree, heskey was an idiot for doing that. it's shocking that a pro footballer can make such a stupid tackle. its not like the dude was going anywhere, there were two other england player in front of the french player. oh well, we'll get them in the final!Daddy wrote:Point taken about hesky holding the ball up - at a crucial stage of the game like that.
But that was his role what the hell was he doing 30 yards from france's goal making silly challanges.
i hope we don't get chucked out by UEFA, there was a huge fight yesterday involving mainly english fans. they were chanting racist remarks at the portugese and throwing bottles, chairs etc at the police. those pricks really piss me off!
