Something you can make... I recommend just bending a popcan into a bowl, poking holes in it, making a carb, and you're good to go. Yes, it will fuck your lungs if you're new, but most pipes do.
If you want to make something that will deliver big, smooth hits, and treats your lungs nice, I recommend taking knife-hits through an ice chamber. Ahhhh.
