People will always want to define themselves as something. They conform to stereotypes because they like the stigma attached to them, and for the outward projection of self that adhering to a label provides, mostly in the hope they can find other people with similar attitudes, thoughts or feelings. What I find humourous is that alot of people who conform to a social stereotype often have a false air of individuality. Surely if you were a punk or metalhead or whatever, so as not to conform with that stereotype you would wear clothes that are not assosciated with that scene? The whole social steroetypes thing is filled with endless contradictions. People need to learn what you wear, listen to or watch does not define who you are. What you believe in, your moral code, your genetic make up, your experiences in life, your mannerisms, your behaviour... are these not much better ways to define who you are?

If you are calling me a comformist, you obviously don't know me that well.

I donno man..I'm not gonna drink with someone and ask what their morality is like. I'm gonna look at their clothes and spark a conversation based on what I think they are into.

Also, CTCF, I don't have any background in this field whatsoever but weed helps me understand an utter shitload to do with it, without reading any books or anything.

I studied it for a while got an A level in it, did it more from interest rather than wanting to pursue a career in it though.

Also just so you know Andria, it wasn't a personal attack on you I am just saying what I have seen and what I think on the subject, you wanted people to kill the silence right? I dunno how and its purely unintentional but somehow I just manage to cause a shit storm almost everytime my fingers hit the keyboard to post in this forum. Peace pipe for you? :bong:
