Re: tattoos, how do you feel about them?
It seems that here in Melbourne, tatooes have become as much of a fashion choice as a new jumper. And there are fewer people WITHOUT them than WITH them. Truly, it makes me find a person an idiot if they have a tatoo completely rooted in something which is nothing to do with them. Such as mauri emblems for WARRIOR or PEACE, or chinese nanograms for DEXTERITY or WIZARD...its the same, to my mind, as that person putting a sign on their head saying 'im a shallow fuck, who wants to be cool by painting my skin, yeh man!!! fucking yeh!!!!!'...Quite a few of my friends have them, but only one of them has skin art which fits him and also looks wicked. He has latin words of battle and war. And he has experience in Killing and War. It suits...the others? I am indifferent to them. Though they create an impression, they are never enough for me to judge a person. If they were, I would be a fucking mormon...its YOUR skin, do want you want with it, but make sure its something you like.

I love art but making tattoo in my body, no way. I just only draw sketch or paint than to have a tattoo attach on my bod. I really understand you as you love tattoos. I'm just wanna be kind in posting this information about tattoos. I know you know them already.
"Tattoos can cause skin problems like granulomas (red bumps caused by inflammation) and keloid scars, and provoke allergic reactions, making skin itch and break out. These allergic reactions can occur with no warning, years after you get your tattoo. Getting a tattoo also puts you in danger of getting diseases like AIDS, tetanus, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C (although you can reduce your risk by selecting a good tattoo parlor--see Preventions/Solutions). In addition to these health problems, tattoos can cause a hassle at the doctor's office. Don't tattoo over a mole, as this makes it harder to detect cancerous mole growth. If you get an MRI in a tattooed part of the body, you may experience swelling or burning, although these effects aren't permanent." see the link below for more information.

Maybe to others and to you, it was good, I really understand you, because all of us have own likes and dislikes.

I personally recommend checking oneself for OCD at least once every 5 minutes.

Tattoos are hot. Especially sleeves.
I have one tat on my lower back on the right side. It's a pegasus unicorn my little pony with a diamond on the ass. It has no meaning. I was just being random.
Chest pieces and neck tats are the only ones I don't like. Donno why....they just annoy me.

I like tattoos a lot... not all tattoos though...
but its all subjective... like artwork... some i like some i dont... and i generally base it on a gut feeling.
i have two koi fish that i drew , on my back to symbolise my two families...
and plan to get a silver fern under them soon to represent my kiwi roots.
i am jealous of people brave enough to get sleeves... some of them are amazing..
someone on here had one that he drew himself which was awesome...
my favourite so far is from a guy i play football with and is like family to me... it is script on the underside of his forearm..
"All the leaves are brown And the sky is grey I went for a walk On a winter's day"

Re: tattoos, how do you feel about them?
one of my 2nd cousins is tattooed head to toe (neck to toe, actually)
i supposed he can deal with tht tho cause he lives in his mothers basement and works as a dj.
must be weird though, to be inked all over, i wonder what might have inspired him to wander down that path
(and i want to see what he looks like when hes 70 something and sagging into a rocking chair somewhere mumbling amongst his booze) 7
some tattoos are cool.
i'd probably get bored of it though.

Re: tattoos, how do you feel about them?
so here are some more thoughts about tattoos-
when alot of people see tattoos the ask the question "what are you going to think about these when your old?"
this question doesnt bother me. i have a few answers to this question
BUT, it does make me think....why does the person asking me this have an such a specific image of an elderly person?
its just another form of discrimination.
(Im having trouble articulating my thoughts here)
the stereotyping of our elderly is shameful, to think that every person lives there own unique life but MUST end up looking the same
i wish i could discuss this in person

Re: tattoos, how do you feel about them?
I don't think you understand the whole question.. or you're going at it wrong. The whole 'what are you going to think about these when your old?' question is basically.. will this tattoo apply to you when your old? will it still look decent, or will it make your skin look like you have some fucked up skin disorder? The question isn't about the elderly as much as if you will regret it some OTHER point in your life.abby wrote:so here are some more thoughts about tattoos-

Re: tattoos, how do you feel about them?
i see where your coming from SpRi7e
and all your points of valid
but some people really dwell on how the tattoo will look when your old.as you said they may look like "some fucked up skin disorder"
but the chances are your skins gonna take a toll through life anyways. you may actually get a serious skin condition or in a accident
and you cant control any of those things, yet they will be part of everyones life.
getting a tattoo knowing and accepting that it will change and age just like the rest of your skin is part of the commitment and process.
its like..... being an active participatan in the evolution of your body. we are all in constant evolution, The Self changes.
and to be honest. i know alot of people regret there tattoo later. but i just think they dont seriously think about the philosophy of it. i dont think i could ever bring myself to regret something i care so much about. like a great relationship gone horribly wrong, you should still be able to treasure what it meant to the Self that was there.
