that sounds like something bruce willis or arnold schwarzenegger would say in some 80s action flick.

I was 16 when I got together with her and it ended two years later, it took me another year to realize what a dumbass i've been :(
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

I guess this is an ongoing regret, but I find myself not being able to stop it from happening.

I find it hard to talk to people, properly. I can't hold meaningful conversations face to face, only through MSN can I really express myself. It's annoying when you try to tell someone, especially of the female variety, how you feel.

It's not because I don't know what I am going to say, it's just I can't physically say it, so one on one conversations often end in me trying to turn the whole thing into a joke and then leave to do something else.

It gets annoying, but I can't do anything to help it.

That's a self-confidence thing. I'm sure there's something you can do about that.

I had this problem too actually, and I hated myself for it. I mean I really hated myself. I went with the "face your fears" approach, and started going for walks outside randomly. If I crossed paths with someone on the walk, I would ask them what time it was, ask them for a cigarette, anything to say to these randoms walking down the street. If I saw an old person I would say something like "nice day out huh? hope it stays like this for a while." I would just say anything, i didn't really care that it was nice out, what time it was, or anything. After about a month I noticed I was talking to people in school(engaging in conversations rather than waiting for someone to talk to me(I'm pretty sure you have that problem too ;) if you're anything like me)) I would actually find myself in conversations with teachers about vacations they've been on an random shit like that.

This isn't a permanent problem. The way I overcame it was to basically just teach myself how to talk to people. In many cases I would actually think of the conversation in my head before I talk to someone, and then stick to the conversation I made up in my head. I did some pretty random/crazy shit to try to fix myself, and in the end it definitely worked.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

It's less the starting conversations, more turning them into something more meaningful than a few witty comments here and there
