matten, mate, I look forward to your argument. And if you can show me irrefutable proof that Iraq has attacked the US in some way, i will hold up my hands and say 'fair enough, I was wrong!'...The reasons given for going to war in Iraq were based solely on claims regarding WMD. WMD which the very body charged and responsible for investigating such matters deemed Non-Existent...Your time may be better spent investigating who is making $ from the Iraq war. I am sure that path will lead you back to home soil without too much digging. The argument that 'Saddam was Evil and we have liberated the Iraqi people' is shambolic. He was undoubtedly a truly Evil beast and I cannot say I miss him from the world of the living, but I see Bush as equally amoral. And why the hell aren't US/UK forces 'liberating' the Sudanese, the Chechnyans(sp?), the Zimbabweans, the North Koreans????? That war has nothing whatsoever to do with Liberation of Life...Just my opinion, obviously, and one I could change given enough of a slap in the face with Unchallengable facts.
Listen to a track called 'Memorial Day' by the Perceptionists, if you get the chance mate...

Security forces in the area have started clearing mines after a major NATO-led offensive against the Taliban to allow thousands of people displaced by the fighting to return home. NATO's top general in Afghanistan said 19 September that a major offensive this month handed the Taliban their biggest defeat since 2001, as troops forged ahead with two new operations

All politics aside, the military drug tests. If you're the kind of guy who would risk his military career to get high while on duty, you probably are going to get what you deserve anyhow. Secondly, it's just dangerous to put yourself in a situation where you would be high while expected to defend your life and the lives of your fellow soldiers. I'd hate to have you as a battle buddy. You disgrace the service.
And if anyone was interested Iraq is north of Kuwait and west of Iran.

The Iraq war is a sham, duh... everyone but the rich white conservatives know that.

well ty all for the input however insults are most unneeded. i dont know who you are or what youve been through and done but you dont know me and to think that you know enough about a person based on somthing they said in a forum to judge and insult is most definitly a flawed way to look at things so. if smoking pot in the military makes you a disgrace, i dont have any statistics for you, but i think i can safely say that alot of service members are oh so disgraceful... so whatever

Taking weed into a combat zone is irresponsible and dangerous. Needlessly putting your life and the life of others in danger is a douche-nozzle idea. Not to mention how silly it is that you would even smoke KNOWING they'll be doing routine monthly drug tests--your name WILL come up.
If you want some insight, I'm married to an Iraqi Freedom veteran, a SSG. He gets to be in charge of some damn fine soldiers as well as some downright morons as you yourself have presented yourself to be. Save the weed until your contract is up.

Guess what, that makes THEM dangerous, irresponsible douche-nozzles as well.

I doubt it, the military weeds through drug users fairly regularly (pun intended). I know it sounds like bullshit that you can't smoke, but that's what you signed up for. Tough it out buddy, you do not need to get caught getting high, and you really really don't need to be getting high in the first place.

you call them terroists but they are fighting for freedom... wouldnt you do the same thing if u had armys invading your country... in my eyes here the real terroists here are the invading armys killing iraqi people, if you leave them alone and get out of their country they should have no need to fight back... unless they want a little bit of revenge which i suggest u look out for... the paramilitarys are just as real an army as you claim to be... Well first of all BIG UPS for fighting the battle.. I dont think you need to listen to anyone here (Especially Ms. Tea Sweetheart) since no one else here that has said anything is in the position of traveling to a foreign country to put their life on the line.
Personally, I can't relate to your situation so i would just say, if you think you can get some green safely there, go for it. Otherwise whats the point...
