I speak fluent english (main language), some Japanese, and I can speak German good enough to hold conversations

The foreign language public education in the US is ptretty much nonexistent, which sucks, one of the reasons being that almost all universities require at least a year of foreign language, and if you want to get a Masters, they require "evidence of ability to make scholarly use of at least one other language".
WTF? Why don't they teach us this from KINDERGARTEN?! Why don't they start offering foreign language in public education until high school? Being a 21 year old college student, I can certify that it is difficult as hell to learn all the little nuances of a foreign language; had I learned Spanish when I was five, I doubt I'd be making notecards and spending ten hours a week at it.
And I can read/write it better than I speak it too.

languages are just wayyyy to confuzzling! but, i speakin' teh englash. and i know some japanese, and some russian/hindu from my friend who is trying to teach me.

i find it strange that some stoners are so intelligent
