You've always got the Penguins. They must be close. Haha, but I understand you probably don't want to do that. It would be like if I started liking golden gophers hockey. F*ck the Gophers!

Re: The Random Topic
Its been a beautiful three days since my savage queen returned from her travels in Japan...Its a little odd to find her feeling sad at times, but I must use my head, rather than just be this constant inferno of desire and wide open totally devoted heart...for her trip was 6 months long ( I was with her for the first 4 months) and so for all that to end, to return home, as much as brilliant to be adored and spoilt by her man, hugged and loved by her family, the change is pretty heavy. I will continue to blind her with my love torch, leave her be when she wishes to be left with her own thoughts and try marry her last 6 months to the Now.

Getting hitched Dan?
Not much new here, weather is turning cold as it always does. I cannot wait to head to the crystal clear waters of the caribbean this winter.

Re: The Random Topic
Winter has come. Yesterday there was snow, and then it rained away. I am trying to finish the process of going to Canada this January, a bit bummed they only go to school from jan to april, which means it'll be winter the entire time I'm there. Applied for residence, and fuck me, it's expensive. And if I do not get a single room I'm going to be a bit ornery.
I bought a pair of shoes and a tie on ebay. the tie cost me a grand total of 1 USD, Ebay can be fun.

Congrats... I think... I don't really understand what you're on about. The event/ritual/ceremony/commemoration/celebration whatever you want to call it, i think is the most important part. Private or otherwise, it's the recognition that it brings that carries the meaning. Something very intangibly tangible about it I'm not quite sure i get, but very much like the idea of.
On a side note, after two weeks reclusive computer screen staring, keyboard tapping and mental exhaustion, I'm pretty sure i know everything there is to know about the outside environment of the music retail industry, and all i can think is that i haven't felt this happy with a piece of work for quite a while, so hopefully its a gooden.

Re: The Random Topic
I was ranting, lep...as always...in part response to a conversation I had with some lads from work, all of whom are married, and when I mentioned that my Lady was overseas, one of them said 'so you are single for now then'...and I took it oddly. The weird thing is that here in Australia, its seen as masculine to behave in such a manner, when there is little substance to such jibes. To me, it smacks of school days changing rooms.
I truly see and feel and talk of my Woman as my Queen. Which suits me and Her, maybe not others...
as for the end of your hermitude, on this halloween eve, I raise my glass of vodka and toast your re-emergence. And wonder what you will do with your newfound knowledge??? And where is that piece of work???

I can assure you that in no way is that type of manner geographically determined, as those type of people are found throughout the world regardless of general country culture, (as I'm writing this I'm starting to wonder if there is such a thing.... Maybe perhaps just in the extremes...) but rather a much more micro-societal culture, possibly even individual.
Anyways, i turned it into an A0 sized poster (the dullest poster you'd ever see, but hey presentation wasn't important) and in 4 weeks I'll be submitting a further, more specific report which will look at Apple's iTunes section and how it's positioned in the market/industry, where its heading and why etc.
Realistically, and putting it simply, it's a matter of telling people everything they already know but just don't have at the forefront of their minds, throwing in a few statistics and expert opinions and then piecing it all together. Not too difficult, right.
A toast to hallow's eve also... All in preparation for turning two little ducks... as the bingo callers would call it.

Re: The Random Topic
Yes, lep, you can find those sorts of people anywhere in the world, but you are very wrong to conclude that geographical determination which is social/cultural determination is of no consequence. Maybe I am mistaken, but I assumed you have lived most, if not all your life in Ireland??? And if so, how could you possibly be so sure (as to assure!) that you can speak for the world as a whole??
There is no doubt whatsoever in my own mind that Australian culture is markedly different to English, and French, and Italian, and German, and certainly to the others I have experienced in the other countries I have visited. It is a society which not only encourages, but also praises and holds up high as wonderful, ignorance and puerile nonsense. There is very little pressure to mature, next to none really, whereas the life in Europe, and other places, is harder, people are forced to mature, to develop in spirit and mind, not just muscles. It was of no surprise that my Lady found the same differences during her recent 6 month travel jaunt and is now hellbent on moving the three of us (our hound included) to europe in the next few years. She has outgrown Australian culture which is a similar shape to american culture (hence why up to 70/80% of the TV here is American..huge eh!), but of less substance.
It is not just a lack of hardship, but it plays its part. People here in the 30s routinely behave less maturely than my 20 year old cousins from the motherland, who seem to me pretty normal well adjusted lads, not amazingly smart nor over educated nor inexperienced. It smacks of social engineering to me. Keep the grunts dumb and working and consuming, the gadgets and toys and gimcracks they can buy is always growing...its a very very well run system of work and consume. but also suffering from a huge dearth of creativity and intelligence.
Yes there are morons everywhere, but the concentration of them is higher in certain countries and cultures. Of that, I can assure you, young Sir!.

Re: The Random Topic
Having no experience as you rightly pointed out I'll have to take your word for it, and hopefully will find out someday myself.
I still like to believe however that there's at least 7000 people identically like me out there... Doing the math, considering I'm one in a million and the worldly population is seven billion odd.
I do also like to believe that I've met at least two of them.
Throwing randomness back into the random topic I thought you would all like to know that on the first row of letters on a standard qwerty keyboard you can spell the word typewriter.

and the qwerty layout was chosen as the standard for typewriters for it's inefficiency.

That is an odd idea for me, Lep...that there is anyone identical to me. Do you mean in looks, or character or in everything you are?? I am interested to know more of your theory/belief.
And Sugar..,I am lost...it was chosen for its inefficiency??? In what way is it inefficient??

Re: The Random Topic
You can also spell you only using the top row of letters on a QWERTY keyboard!
