9/11 DAY!

Today was the 3rd annual 9/11 day here at our school...u know what that means...ITS TIME TO EXPLOIT THOSE WHO DIED IN THE WORLD TRADE CENTERS! yes they succeded to remind us of this tragic date inbetween every period(if i hear "im proud to be and american" one more time im gonna fuckin flip)...how does a school have the nerve to do that..i mean its fine to say a short speach first period to remember those who died but what if someone at my school(not saying there is) but what if someones uncle or ne other simbling died in the wtc??? do u think reminding them every fucking periods gonna do nething?? They treat 9/11 as if it were a f***ing holiday.....i mean god bless america....but...how much blessing does one thing need?

I feel 9/11 should be remember for the rest of our lives. For gods sake, thousands of people died. That day was a tragedy. Hundreds of thousands of families and friends lost loved ones, or have been directly affected. Thousands of people died, being heroic, putting their lives on the line to save total strangers. The concept, of people, who could have just as easily escaped with their lives, business men, fire fighters, citizens, your next door neighbour, worked to rescue those stuck on the upper floors. If that isnt humanity at its best, I dont know what is.

I totaly agree with you...it was a very tragic time and people are heroes. But when our school treats like a holiday i.e asemblys,activites,ect. is wronge...leave it alone...let it be rememberd...dont make it somthing we should know as "tommorows 9-11...schools gonna be sweet...shortend classes!"

9/11 was indeed a tragic day but so was 10/10 (bali bomb). What will happen on 11/11 this year?

It is a very sad fact that so many innocent ppl died in the WTC but lest we forget tens of thousands of innocent ppl died in Afganistan and Iraq.
And the only thing resulting from these deaths, is for the US to control the oil in these countries Al Qaeda has not been stopped and there were no WoMD found in Iraq.

I'm agreeing with SundiRox on this one (by the way nice to meet you) but i find it irritating that so many americans find the world trade center bombing such a tragedy, but fail to recognise that fact that they are the only nation to have used nuclear bombs on civilians. (hiroshima and nagisaki anyone?) or what about the use of agent orange against the vietcong? fuck the list goes on.

Of course it was a tragedy all the same and it shouldn't have happened. And I do agree, they shouldn't turn it into some excuse for a holiday

Yeah, but I think in someplaces they commemorated on the 15th..not sure why but I heard that somewhere...BAck when it happened there was a memorial service on the 15th I think

But as well as remembering 9/11, lets not forget about other tragedies. 14,500,000 young men were killed in World War 1 alone.

i remember 9/11. i was horrified.from where i live i can see the manhattan skyline from my balcony. that day i saw a whole bunch of smoke. i was just hoping noone attacked us, cuz then i will be fucked. fuck bin laden. i knew someone that died in the wtc too

In my school they just make an announcement in homeroom. Then they play that really sad patriotic song, that makes me wanna cryyyyy

I remeber actually on september 11th 2001 i came home from school and saw everybody sat infront of the tv in our living room. I honestly thought it was a film or some shit like that! after i realised it was real i was like holy fuck! i didnt leave the living room for a good few hours just sat there staring at the tv in disbelief! althought after they kept playign the clips of the planes flying into the WTC i started to feel weird, i mean they were looping footage of a few hundred people dying instantly.. again and again and every time it played i cudnt but help thinking about how many people were on those planes, after a while i just couldnt watch the news about because it was old news and they just kept playing the same footage over and over again and by then virtually everybody in the modern world had seen it and it was pointless to keep playing it, it was as if tv channels kept using to pull ratings n shit, so where you keep going on about humanity at its best... in the situation yes it, however other people will use that situation and exploit it! like alot the media did

All 24 hour news channels suck man there should be only several channels that have it on once in the day at different times. The only 24 hour news channel should be sky sports news!
