I dunno....never heard of such a thing elsewhere. I think it's kind of unique to Hawaii
I mean there's homeless people everywhere, but they don't set up these little communities of tents and shacks quite like they do in Hawaii. They seem to tolerate it in Hawaii...in what other american city (and tourist destination) would you see this?
in my city we got a street down town thats just a few blocks from the magistrates office and tourist attractions downtown and everyone knows that street as bum alley. there wnt be ne tents but u will see
cardboard houses and little make shift shelters there
Before watching Dog, I never would have thought that Hawaii had such a dark side. Aside from the beaches, I've seen him go into 'backcountry' areas of Hawaii that seem like a whole other world. The cardboard shacks, and dilapidated makeshift dwellings like you said...there's like entire hidden communites like that. It's frankly quite shocking and hard to imagine. Seeing such things really makes a guy think
thats why i was saying its lk that in a lot of places with little homeless underground cities for lack of a better word. dnt get me wrong there really is sum beautiful places to go and see in hawaii but on the flip side the ghettos there are far from beautiful. a lot of the samoans (big guys) there have half there faces tattooed, most of them are usually gang members
Without reading what that actually was, i woulda thought that was some sorta festival going on there. Like yourself, i never would have imagined a place having such a dark side. I know we all bias our own views on things but, it's always a shock to see the other picture. Damn this ambiguity.
Everywhere has a dark side and even the homeless deserve shelter. Anywhere which doesn't tolerate homeless people living in tents should really reconsider their principles.

I was lucky...the years that were lost were years that I wasn't active much so I didn't lose any post count at all I think. Rather unfair, considering that other members deserve my spot.... or atleast somewhat close lol. Really sucks for the folks who lost everything
