Everyone name your favorite artists and maybe a little description why they're on your top.
Mine right now are..
Aesop Rock - He's packed full of meaningful songs in a very metaphoric sense. He's one of the only artists that I've listened to a hundred times and still don't fully understand what his songs mean in depth. He's a master wordsmith with the emotion of 1,000 mainstream rappers
Doctor Oscify - his music speaks to me more fluently for my life than any other artist I've heard
now this is where it gets hard to choose.. so I'll break my own rules (good start to a thread.. breakin ur own rules) and do a couple more
Tech n9ne - I got in to him from listening to kottonmouth kings.. I can't say he's the deepest writer, but he is an AMAZING song producer and from what I've heard, can throw a CRAZY ass concert with a mouth that can spit words faster and more fluently than almost any other artist out there
sage francis - I would put him on my top, but I've realized his songs are either a hit or miss with me. Either his story and song itself fits together perfectly creating an emotional storm of chaotic thought. He speaks the truth, and I see him as the wise man of the music industry just asking for others to hear his stories.
Atmosphere - well I'd have to say mostly slug on this one, because his freestyling skills are incredible.. Their older CD's weren't the best (usually a 1 hit wonder type CD) but as the group matured, their whole style changed for the best.. With Slugs down to earth voice, and his rhythmic story telling that always grasps you in to his world, let him be one of my most listened to artists
