So my parents found my pipe and they're mad

My mom is usually more irrational, emotional and stubborn so she says things like "so what is it, a CRACK PIPE? or is it for crystal meth?" when she knows its just for weed but she says how its illegal and the devil and how the pipe is illegal blah blah

my dad is more calm and rational, hasn't spoke to me yet but im sure hes gonna lecture me for like 2 hours about life and all that. fact is, aside from smoking weed, i bike everyday, play tennis, eat healthy and exercise, im on my way to college and have been studying psychology on my free time, but all she can see is the potential in weed destroying my life. its so frustrating. I usually am very honest but their resilience against weed and everything it stands for will not let up, they're old school spanish so they really hate weed, plus the connotations it has in connection to the latin community which i think is what really upsets them.

But I think Im just gonna lie and bury this before it gets started, I already told my mom its for a friend who didnt have a credit card and she believes me but still seems upset, its just my dad im worried about. Tough dealing with my folks because theres nothing i can say they'll be happy to hear unless it's "ok i'll go to rehab". ITS RIDICULOUS!

Any of you folks have troubles like this with your family? Cant wait to move out

Ooh, I'm sure there are members here who have had this issue...

I smoked weed once at 14, hated the experience (bad trip..) and didn't touch weed again till age 17 after I moved out and had my own place. They don't know to this day that I smoke weed really. I drank beer when I was living with my parents and went through hell with them as they are also very old school folks and extemely religious (christian). They kicked me out of their home for a first time at age 13. I came back a few times over the years, but from 13-17 I lived only about 1.5 years at home. I was placed in 14 different foster families and group homes over the years. There was no negotiating. To them I was the devil period.

Ohhh yea... I've been caught smoking, growing, selling, with paraphernalia... the whole works and my parents only accepted it after I was caught for the 100th time

Honestly you have the right idea in mind... just lie to them

I know many people will say:
"just tell your parents how you feel and explain to them the pros and cons and that you are a responsible person... blah blah blah "
(i tried this the first or second time and I got kicked out... I've been kicked out of my house 7 times btw)


That will only work 5% of the time and will DEFINITELY not work with highly religious parents. (which I assume your parents are since they're spanish.)


So... yea just lie to them and deny smoking over and over until they kind of believe you... but let me tell you this. BE ON YOUR TOES... never leave your weed or pipe or rolling papers laying around or even in your own room without being there. THEY WILL FIND IT... and even when they find it just deny it more and more until the next time you get caught... then on that magic day when they catch you smoking.. they wont say anything (maybe just show a look of disapproval.) and after that you will only have to deal with little sly remarks they make about pot and stoners which they will be aiming right at you.

what I used to do is just buy enough weed to smoke that day and make sure you smoke it all and only leave maybe a joint for the next day and keep it in your pocket.. also it's better to not own anything like a pipe or bong until you have your own place to live.

ya its good advice, i mean its actually helpful advice.

Im in the same boat but my parents arnt relgious they were vietnam war vet's so they see people that smoked pot as hippies that will never do anything productive with life or ppl that smoke pot are losers who live at home with their parents. They think if you do pot as they say then you will never acomplish anything until you quite smoking. Of course they believe pot is highly addictive drug that causes brain damage (both those are proved 100% wrong). Anyway those type of parents tend to be the ones that believe all the bad stuff the corps and government pushed on ppl.

Joe is on the money just lie, lie and lie about it and you'll get caught one day and they'll sort of in a way accept it but make those sly comments aimed towards you but not at you. Youll be at family events and drugs will come up and you parents will be like oh little jonny apearntly like to do pot etc. Or try to talk shit in someway, eh what can you do parents are like a old stubbard horse.
