Too much weed requirements for recipies?

I've noticed in pretty much every recipie I've looked at for weed brownies, or other forms of recipies that require cannabis, call for a lot of weed. Like an ounce or more. I'm planning on making weed brownies with a friend of mine, but there's no way I'm paying hundreds of dollars for one batch, so here's my question:

Can you just use some schwag that you get for like <100/ounce and still get similar effects? Or more specifically: has anyone personally tried using really low grade weed in their recipies and still gotten good effects?

I've heard that low grade weed is more so recommended for cooking with, but I was just wondering if anyone here has personal experience with this.

yeah ya can use shwag just need more of it. also if you can find hash cheap makes excelent brownies cakes ect and ya dont need to turn it into butter either

friend of mine bought an oz of swag for 85 and we baked mad brownies and it was a good experience.
