Holding it in..Does it matter?

Simple question. Do you hold in your hits and if so how long?

I try to hold mine in as long as possible and then when I do exhale I only go half way, inhale fresh air, and then fully exhale so that last half of smoke stays in twice as long.

My friend on the other hand doesn't hold it in very long (maybe 2-3 seconds) by choice, says his lungs can't take it anymore. He claims it doesn't make a difference but I think it does.

Thoughts?

They say THC is primarily in the first 4 seconds so after that you're just making it rougher on your lungs.

that first 4 seconds thing is only accountable for vaporisers, and it depends on the quantity of THC in the hit aswell, in smoke, its a different matter, because u got all kinds of stuff in tha smoke which blocks the THC's pathway to the lungs.

For me, holding it in for 3-4 seconds is nothing different from 10-15 seconds.

I once read that 98% of the thc is absorbed in through your lungs within the first two seconds, i see no point in destroying my cardiovascular health by holding it in any longer than that. I like my lungs, they're the only ones I've got.
