Car Systems

Post by 0rangellama »

So, my system in my car is constantly getting fucked up. I don't know what to do about it. First, all my wiring and shit got all fucked up, I don't know how, but it cost a good $20 to get the shit hooked back up. Then, after that, some cocksuckin' bitch got up in my car, cut my ground wire, and stole a CD outta my car. Now, it took me a few days to realize that the CD was gone, but now my sub just makes a sort of funny sound. It's kind of like a pffffffffzzzzzzz type sound, if that makes any sense, I know thats a terrible description, but it's the best I can do over a computer. Anyhow, last night, I tried hookin' the shit back up, and the amp wouldn't even turn on. The protect light would turn on, but the sub itself, would not play any music, it'd make that shitty ass sound. Yes, I am sure I had all of the wires re-connected, and I fixed the ground wire. Now, the sub itself, isn't blown, or anything else wrong with it. Anyhow, I'm postin' this shit in here, cause most stoners, it seems, know quite a bit about systems and what not, so if ya got any advice, or any ideas what the fucking problem could be, let me know, cause I really don't want to go have to spend some more money up on this shit.

Sounds like the Sub is blown.

if the amps protect light is on, it's possible that there is a short circuit. Check your wires going to the sub and make sure the + and - are not touching each other. This sounds like an amp problem if it won't really turn on and the protect light is on. And just to check if the sub is blown, push the cone inward a little and listen, if there is a scratching sound the sub is blown. If the cone won't even move in, you melted the voice coil and the sub is done for. In some cases a blown sub can cause a short circuit, which is what may have happened here. If the sub is fine, something happened to your amp. See if you can try someone elses amp in your setup and see if everything works fine, if it does work fine, something happened to your amp. That's all the help i can give you right now.
