When do you become a Stoner?

this is something that ive wondered about since I first toked.. at what point do you stop being "someone who tokes" and become a "stoner?". Cos atleast with myself and most people i know theyve gone from being someone who tokes, but then after a while they become recognised as a stoner... but when does that change occur? Im not looking for a definate answer in this, but I just wanna see when different people think it is...

I don't think that's true. I think that someone who smoked everyday is a pothead, not just a stoner.
In my opinion someone who tokes would be someone who smoked occasionally and plans when he/she smoked.
A stoner smoked more often and usually doesn't plan out when he/she smoked so they usually do crazy things to get money in order to smoke.
A pothead is someone who does it everyday or almost everyday and have a steady supply of weed coming to them.

i think the description you gave is the definition of a dope fiend not a stoner. stoners can have jobs they dont need to go around doing weird shit for money...thats what crackheads do.

my definition of a stoner would be someone who smokes on an almost daily basis and will never ever ever turn down a toke. being a stoner also requires a certain laid back mentality that comes naturally when smoking large amounts of pot. a stoner not only loves to get high but loves marijuana and everything about it.

i dont know if its cause im stoned too but that really makes since. but there is a big difference around here between smoker, stoner, and pothead. your average smoker/ this is all a lie is the one who will do its to be cool, never buys for himself. a stoner is someone who smokes maybe once a week and just relaxes at partys and to have a good time to kill time. and the pothead is the one who has connections that can get what you want when you want it. he has a piece or a bong and its the one you call when you wanna blaze a lil. sorry, but im stoned as fuck and that kinda made since to me.

i class my self as a stoner i smoke everyday but i have a job and i am going college and i have a proper life never have trouble getting bud never do anything stupid or crazy to get bud

ive been labeled a stoner in my area...highschool but w/e..i gotta job. im in the IB program at my school, got all A's n B's...and i smoke prolly around 2-3 times a week..oh yea i do buy for myself lol (someone said sometin bout that earlier)

I think you become a stoner when you reach that mentality that most stoners have. Its when you become laid back, tend to use the phrase "fuck that" a lot, you becom a strong believer in everything good that pot does, and you tend to do really weird shit, whether your stoned or not. hmm.. besides this, I think stoners do have a few recognisable things:
- Always packed with a lighter
- Able to get bud in any circumstances (I mean, always know where to get bud)
- Always up for a smoke, whether you have to buy yourself or someone offers.
- Like One-eyed said, lots of "fuck thats" on a day
- And a few more I forgot..

But yea, there are many definitions to "stoner", I think it depends on how your enviroment reacts on it too, like if you're a beginning smoker with a group of potheads, you won't be defined as a stoner that fast if you toke up once a week or something. But in a group of non-smokers you'll be seen as a pothead too (or something in that way).
