of course I turn it off...and I was amazed how many ppl just leave it flowing...do you realize that there are millions of water starved people in Africa? And why should I leave it on to annoy me while I brush my teeth for 5 minutes? What's the point? Is it that hard to turn it off? Do you even know how much water flows in 5 minutes? It also saves you unnecessary bills...
This planet is going from bad to worse just because people think resources are endless and take everything for grantage...And planet is reacting to this abuse...just look at the alarming catastrophees that are happening more and more...
Don't missunderstand - I'm not one of those green piece guys, but we can at least think rational...

I dont see any reason to leave it on. I wet the brush. put the paste on, and wet it again the brush my teeth. I mean its not that hard to turn it off and the faucet is right in front of me. Thats crazy how many people leave it on, is the sound of the water soothing from the terrible task of brushing your teeth?

look man, I'm not saying it's just because of leaving water on, but it definately has it's contribute in it, as small as it seems.mac dre wrote:Im sure that the catastrophes and shit happen because some of us dont turn our faucet off when we brush our teeth. actually u know wut.. its Gotta be wuts causing these damn green house gases as well.. you've just figured out the catastrophes and global warming man.. good job.Duke Raoul wrote:This planet is going from bad to worse just because people think resources are endless and take everything for grantage...And planet is reacting to this abuse...just look at the alarming catastrophees that are happening more and more...
Water is priceless, and just how pricless, ppl are going to understand it when no more drinking water is available...Why spend resources if they don't need to be spent...if it's your money flowing instead of that water would you be leaving it on? and you know what...it is your money....it is our lives together with life of this planet...and you just can't understand that until some catastrophee happens, and than you wonder why...as we treat this planet, it will treat us the same way...
and again, I'm not a green peace member or something, it is just common sense what I' talking about...

Mostly leave it on. It's never really been a concious decision on my part, it's just how i've always brushed my teeth. I've never really thought of it as an issue before.
To be honest though, the population will never be wiped out from lack of drinking water. With 75% of the world being water, that's impossible. I realise that a hell of alot of that water is undrinkable, but think about it, do you not think that scientists would think of a way to purify it if the alternative was everyone on earth dying a slow and painful death? And as soon as that technology becomes readily available, there will actually be more water to drink than there is now.
And Dark Raoul, the fact that there are so many water starved people in Africa is irrelevant to this topic. If i didn't waste that extra bit of water brushing my teeth, that doesn't mean that that water would be transported to Africa, it just means that Englands water supply would be slightly increased. African nations have a low water supply because they don't get any rain, not because someone thousands of miles away left the tap running.
But it doesn't really matter anyway, greenhouse gases and nuclear warfare will wipe out the population before water shortage gets a chance to.

I turn the tap off. I never thought of it as a decision I made to make a difference somewhere else. From years of brushing my teeth myself its become a habit.
Even if I did leave the tap on, like modnight said, it isn't going to affect africa in any way. It would make a small difference to our supply in England if everyone here left their taps on while they cleaned their teeth, but that could be easily solved and so there wouldn't really be any permanent consequences.

i usually turn it off, mainly cos i have a habbit of forgetting that im brushing my teeth and i just wandering about doing stuff with a toothbrush in my mouth, so if i did leave it running i'd leave it on for ages, which is a bit of a no no.

no it doesnt have to definatly contribute to it. its letting water go down the drain, we arent dumping radioactive shit into the water or mass polluting or some crazy shit like that.stupidguy wrote:look man, I'm not saying it's just because of leaving water on, but it definately has it's contribute in it, as small as it seems.

you just don't know to appreciate what was given to you my friend...and that's why ppl are disgusting creatures...
and let me explain something to you...filtering that water you get from you tap costs money and resources....and resources aren't unlimited...and something you learn in school (that is if you went to one) is that EVERY ACTION HAS A REACTION!
end of discussion for me...
