imm oving to melbourne on 30th of august. i gunna have bout a grand english totake with me. now i wondering if neone knows the bestway ofme changing this english money into australian pounds.

i do have an aussie account already.
now would it be best forme to change my pounds upbefore i leave the uk. or wouldit be better to buy my dollars in australia???

also does anyone know if it ispossible to do a transfer from my english account to my aussie account,and how and is it costly??anyway help always appreciated.

I'm not sure how you should convert it, but try and have some Australian currency just in case, for emergency or somthing

well if you are thomas cook customer i know they do foreign exchange with no commision.

And umm based on http://www.xe.com/ucc you get AU$2389

take it to the post office they do it commision free, and you can change it back if you have any foriegn change after the holiday.

Ohh, I never knew the post office did that. :idea: :idea:

I was gonna say to change the money at the bank. Or one of those currency exchange places at some malls.

thanks for the advice people, i kinda thought that the post office wouldbe the best bet. its not a holiday, ill onlybe leaving to come back and visit uk or wherever in the world i need to be for watver reason...

You should be able to do a commision free transfer between acounts in the UK and Aus, depending on whether the acounts are with the same or different banks.

i'm sure they dont do it free, but maybe i just got ripped off my post office is a little dodgy.
