Had the same study to follow in Sociology Vaguely remember it now But as I recall it was an interesting study. And If I do recall I agree that nature not nuture makes us who we are. The surroundings around us cannot change whilst the home enviorment is full of change adatped the way your parents best see fit. In the real world your parents can not change things for the better for you and I feel your enviroment because of this shapes who and what you are. Because your enviroment is always changing. Take two kids with the same indentical parents. One kid lives in a rich; Well put together community where Morals and common courtesy are a part of everyday life. Take another kid who lives in The slums, The ghetto, the inner city.
On the same day think about how many more things a child from the inner city will see compared to a child brought up in a Respectable community. The child from the slums will see people living off the streets, violent acts of crime, hookers, drug dealers on the corner with there protection sitting where they can see them. (Anyone that has lived inner city knows what im talking about here.) The child will become accustomed to this lifestyle and less trusting, more alert, and ready to strike when striked upon. This child will know how to protect himself in times of trouble will know who to trust and who not to trust. If your weak you can not survive the hardships of inner city life.
Then there is the child that grew up in The well respected town . You know the rural one. The town where everyone knows everyone and this child tends to grow up complete opposite of the child from the slums. This kid Will be gullible, easy to trick, No street smarts, and could be taken advantaged of easily. Also this kid is less likely to get himself/herself into trouble. This kid will be more trusting, and not ever having to keep looking over his/her shoulder. To check to see what or who is behind him.
Dont know how well this read will go for everyone but This is why I feel that our parents have about 10 percent impact on what makes us who we are. I myself having lived all over the western half of the US. Living in both cities and rural areas have become addopted and it seems that when I go back for a visit to one of these cities. Some part of me kicks in wakes up and I get that old feeling back. Kinda like a 6th sense. I would not trade the rural life for the cities again however I plan to go back for a while just a while.
who r we?

Enviroment = nutureI feel your enviroment because of this shapes who and what you are. Because your enviroment is always changing
have you got this mixed up, i think you mean you agree with nuture over nature right?
(i could be getting confused here as i am prettty chonged hope not thou)
well if you didnt get them mixed up i gotta say i disagree nuture is of the up most importance when it comes to shaping who we are. its like saying if hitler had a different life (childhood, teens) would he still have been and evil twat. id say most likely not as his views and ideas were shaped by the world around him not by the genes he got from his parents.

it is a combination of the two. your genes will determine to an extent what you will look like as well as the environment you are raised in. and yes it has been proven that some behaviours are inherited but for the most part the person you become pretty much comes down to your surroundings, encounters and how you are brought up......
